The Great Commission; let’s go!

There’s no doubt that all of Jesus’ words, parables and sermons are important. Throughout Jesus’ lifetime on earth, he delivered many sermons and talks with His disciples that were all good. But wouldn’t you agree that someone’s final words have even more importance? I, along with many other scholars and theologians, could argue that Jesus’ final words were the most important. Jesus’s final words to His followers on earth were a commission, a command to play our part in His Great Commission and make disciples of all peoples.

Matthew 28:18-20 says,

“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”

This verse makes me so so excited!

Jesus is inviting you.

He’s calling you.

He has already commissioned you.

And he’s waiting for your response.

Now go and tell the world of His goodness and grace!

I believe that you can have many callings in life; some are temporary and some are long term.  In January, I’m being called to serve overseas with my team on the World Race. I sometimes get frustrated wanting to start my mission trip now, like I should be doing more. But right now, I know I’m being called to live in Hawaii to serve, learn and prepare for the World Race here. I am actually really blessed to have this time to prepare my heart and mind for this upcoming stage of life.

What is He calling you to do for His Kingdom? It could be something short term or long term. It could be something that’s been on your mind awhile. It could be something you’re scared of. Your calling could be to go to college, to be a mom, a mentor, or a pastor. It could be to go on a mission trip, to start serving in your church, to start a ministry, etc. But all should include loving and teaching others about Him. I encourage you to listen to what He is telling you. There have been plenty of times that I have been scared and question His plan. But something I’ve been learning about following God’s voice is that He will always provide and protect you along the way. Psalm 37:5 says, “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.” Trust in Him, and He will guide you. He wants to help you, all you have to do is trust that He will.

God calls you according to your potential.

God prepares you along the way.

God is patient with you.

Now my prayer for you is that you spend time in His word and talking with Him, and He will reveal to you His calling for you! God is so good, and He wants to be closer with you. So let’s go and tell the world of His great love and hope!

And a little update… I’m back in Hawaii after spending two wonderful weeks in Minnesota, where I got to spend time with my family and a few friends, and driving to Arizona and back to drop my sister off at college! I stay busy nannying two little boys, cleaning airbnb cabins, playing in a worship band for a college/young adult ministry, hanging out with friends at the beach and continuing to explore God’s beautiful creations here. I leave in one month for the World Race training camp in Georgia! Please pray for safe travels and time of encouragement, humbling, praising God. Lastly, I’m 22% funded for the trip!! Please pray for me and my fundraising, and if you or someone you know feels called to support, there is a link to donate right on this page. Feel free to share! Thank you so so much for all your support already!!

May His peace and joy fill you today! Love, Clara Leverich
