Meet my team: Without Borders!

From left to right: Matt, Clara (me), Travis, Elizabeth, Paula and Makayla

At training camp last October the 20 of us were split into 4 teams. Some months we will be together, some months we will split for the month, then reconvene to travel together to the next country. This month in Romania is an all squad month, meaning all 26 (20 + our 6 leaders) of us are in the same place working with the same ministry all month! It has been incredibly rewarding and challenging at the same time. Living with 30+ people in one house and doing 42 hours of ministry weekly does not leave a lot of alone time or space. There is always someone around but also there is always someone around to talk to or walk with or worship with, etc. Some of those people are specifically on my team! These 5 people have pushed me already to become more loving and patient, grow deeper in my relationship with God, and speak more boldly and with confidence. Enjoy a quick introduction to them, who they are and how you can be praying for them!

Paula: our fearless team leader!

Her favorite song at the moment: One Look by Elevation Worship

Her favorite thing about Romania so far: The pastries! All the treats are so fun to try, there’s so many!

Her favorite Bible verse at the moment: “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.” ??Psalms? ?51:10-12? ?NLT

Her prayer requests: Full trust and reliance in the Lord during this season and for what’s to come.

Matt:

His favorite song at the moment: Mercy by Elevation Worship

His favorite thing about Romania so far: “The fresh bread! It is so delicious!”

His favorite Bible verse at the moment: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God.” Galatians 2:20

His prayer requests: For God to continue to “take me deeper,” for us to be out in front of the correct people to talk to.

Elizabeth:

Her favorite song at the moment: Presence Power Glory by Citipointe Worship

Her favorite thing about Romania so far: The architecture of the buildings

Her favorite Bible verse at the moment: “Do not quench the Spirit.” 1 Thessalonians 5:19

Her prayer requests: For strength to rise into boldness and humility.

Travis:

His favorite song at the moment:  On Repeat by Hillsong

His favorite thing about Romania so far: Visiting the Roma community

His favorite Bible verse at the moment: “For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.” Psalm 95:3?-?5

His prayer requests: To be content in Christ.

Makayla:

Her favorite song(s) at the moment:  Graves into Gardens by Elevation Worship and The Very First Night by Taylor Swift

Her favorite thing about Romania so far: I’m going to go with some favorite moments which encompass one thing but multiple times – playing games with our host family, it happens almost nightly and it’s a time I love a lot and am going to miss when we leave Romania.

Her favorite Bible verse at the moment: “I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.” Psalm 3:5

Her prayer requests: Prayer currently against sickness! People on the squad aren’t feeling well, including her, and prayers against sickness would be appreciated so it doesn’t hinder our ministry opportunities here!

Clara (me):

My favorite song at the moment: Glory by Jarvis Campbell

My favorite thing about Romania so far: My new Romanian friends, who push me to dig deeper in my relationship with God

My favorite Bible verse at the moment: “Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations.” Isaiah 42:1

My prayer requests: Please pray for peace amongst the hearts of my squad, for hope and joy in the hearts of the youth in Craiova, strength and endurance for the local missionaries, and boldness and time to listen to the Lord for me.

Love you all, Clara Grace
